An outdoor classroom on the shores of Lake Michigan. The Leelanau Outdoor Center is a non-profit organization hosting day – overnight programs for school groups, girls scouts, boy scouts, corporate retreats, sports teams and more!
The Boardman Valley Nature Preserve follows the Boardman River south from South Airport Road to the Grand Traverse Nature Reserve.
The Commons Natural Area is a beautiful 140-acre resource near the heart of Traverse City. Miles of hiking trails wander up, down, and around woodlands, streams, meadows, and wetlands.

The 15.5 mile Leelanau Trail is a non-motorized pathway connecting Traverse City to Suttons Bay.
Located in the Pere Marquette State Forest, the Vasa Pathway features a series of loops (3K, 5K, 10K, 25K) that offer users a variety of challenges from easy to difficult.
