This small parcel marked big progress for downtown Traverse City's Bayfront, as it was the last privately owned lot on what is now a long, contiguous expanse of public beach and open space on beautiful West Grand Traverse Bay. Tucked between the sand volleyball courts to the west and a turn-through parking lot to the east, its humble half-acre size belies the huge community effort behind its public acquisition and preservation in 2005.
