Traverse City Area Public Schools- LEAP Program

TCAPS Learning Enrichment & Athletic Program is designed to offer co-curricular opportunities for TCAPS students in elementary and middle school.
Mission

The mission of LEAP is to support successful academic achievement for all students.

In partnership with a caring community, the Learning Enrichment & Athletic Program, will provide students with increased opportunities for engagement beyond the school day through educational and recreational activities to improve learning, health, and wellness.

About Us

Program Goals

  • Each student committing to participate in athletic and/or recreational activities offered through LEAP will be ensured access to available programming.
  • Focus of all LEAP activities and teams will be on skill development, gaining an appreciation for the sport/activity, and on teamwork.
  • The highest degree of sportsmanship will be demonstrated by participants, coaches, parents, and spectators at all times.

    The focus of LEAP athletic offerings is on skill development, growing a love of sport, and teamwork. Team placement for all LEAP programs will be determined by school of attendance and/or by random placement with the goal of each team being equitable. Teams will not be determined by a hierarchy of assumed talent. No student will be "cut" from any LEAP program.
