East Bay Charter Township

East Bay Charter Township is located at the south end of the East Arm of Grand Traverse Bay. We have seven wonderful parks for residents and visitors to enjoy.
Mission

East Bay Charter Township is located in the northwest corner of the Lower Peninsula nestled among many inland lakes inside Grand Traverse County. Currently East Bay Township has seven parks.

About Us

-Grace Macdonald may be the most well known park. It is a 42 acre parcel located near the intersection of Peninsula Trail, Rasho and High Lake roads. Facilities include a baseball field, an all purpose field (with soccer goals and football uprights), a new pickle ball court, tennis courts, basketball courts, a volleyball court and horseshoe pits. It also has a pavilion area with grills and picnic tables, a sledding hill, hiking trails and playground equipment.

Grace Macdonald park is open from dawn until 10:00pm during the sledding season. During all other seasons, the park is open from dawn until dusk.

 

 

Arbutus Lake No 5

-Arbutus Lake No. 5 park is located on E. Arbutus Lake Rd. This park is a nice mixture of grass and trees right on Arbutus Lake. It contains picnic tables, grills, some playground equipment and fishing pier.

 

-Pines Park is an 80 acres parcel located off Eikey Rd. Pines Park is priority #2 on the action plan. A comprehensive site plan has been completed for 20 of the 80 acres. This plan includes a baseball field, a football field, tennis courts, skating rink, paved walking trails, a playground and picnic areas.

 

 

Killingsworth Park

-Killingsworth Park is a 50 acre parcel located on Chandler Lake Rd. and Pointview Rd. This park offers skiing and hiking trails, a pavilion with tables and a swing set for kids.

 

 

-Kelly Park is a 2 acre lot that contains two storage buildings for township equipment and a boat launch for Chandler Lake.

 

Gens Park

-Gens Park is a .62 acre site on US 31 near Holiday Rd. right on East Bay. This park is a recent acquistion (1994) and has been the top priority on the commissions 5-year action plan since 2001. Gens offers a paved parking lot, bathhouse with flush toilets, a boardwalk to the beach and a nice beach/deck area with picnic areas and grills. Recent upgrades include a walkway through the marsh grass to the beach due to low water levels. As of October 31, 2012, Gen's Park is closed for the Season.

Pine Grove Park

-Pine Grove Park is a two lot parcel located in the Pine Grove sub-division. This park offers a basketball court, playground equipment and a picnic area. This is the only township park that does not offer restroom facilities.
